Cyprus tourism bookings show signs of recovery
On March 26, 2026, Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis reported a recovery in tourism bookings following a 20-day decline caused by geopolitical tensions. Addressing the annual General Assembly of the Cyprus Hotel Managers Association (CyHMA) at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Koumis emphasized that the government acted quickly to secure the island's image as a safe destination. He stated that Cyprus remains thousands of kilometers away from active conflict zones. During the recent ITB Berlin tourism fair, the Cypriot delegation engaged with strategic partners to address concerns, resulting in the decision to reinstate all flight programs. To support the sector, the government has implemented measures regarding employment in the hotel industry and air connectivity. New CyHMA President Nick Aristou highlighted quality, competitiveness, sustainability, and innovation as essential priorities for the sector's future.
