Candidate for Direct Democracy party in Paphos withdraws from election
Alfredos Alfredou has officially withdrawn his candidacy for the Direct Democracy party in the Paphos district. The announcement was made via social media shortly after the party's internal elections. Alfredou cited spiritual reasons and personal discomfort with modern political campaigning methods for his decision. He specifically expressed fatigue regarding the perceived necessity to perform for social media videos to attract voters. He characterized these tactics as being inconsistent with his personality and refused to continue participating in such practices. Aspasia Christodoulou, the first runner-up in the Paphos district, is expected to replace him on the ballot. This event marks the second such departure within the party, following the withdrawal of candidate Valeri.
