Fatal road accident in Nicosia and serious injury in Paphos

On March 27, 2026, a 28-year-old motorcyclist named Andreas Antoniou died following a collision with a car driven by a 23-year-old woman in Erimi, Nicosia. The accident occurred at approximately 10:20 PM on Griva Digeni Avenue. Although the victim was wearing a helmet, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at Nicosia General Hospital. The driver of the car passed both alcohol and drug tests but was subsequently arrested under a court warrant to assist with the ongoing police investigation. In a separate incident on March 26, 2026, in Yeroskipou, Paphos, a 39-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured after colliding with a car driven by a 35-year-old woman at the junction of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue and Korytsas Street.
