Eurostat 2025 GDP per capita data by purchasing power parity
Preliminary Eurostat data for 2025 indicates that the average EU GDP per capita in purchasing power parity (PPP) reached €41,600. Cyprus and France share the 11th position, both at 98 per cent of the EU average. Luxembourg leads the bloc at 239 per cent, followed by Ireland at 237 per cent, while the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Malta, and Finland complete the group of countries above the EU average. Other economies follow, including Italy at 96 per cent, the Czech Republic and Spain at 92 per cent, and Slovenia at 91 per cent. Lithuania stands at 88 per cent, with Poland and Portugal at 81 per cent, Estonia at 79 per cent, and Croatia and Romania at 78 per cent. Hungary and Slovakia record 76 per cent and 75 per cent respectively. Bulgaria and Greece represent the lowest figures in the bloc at 68 per cent of the EU average, with Latvia at 71 per cent. This indicator adjusts for price level differences to allow for real comparison of purchasing power across member states.
