APOEL president Haris Fotiou announces debt restructuring and donation of shares

In a press conference held on March 30, 2026, the new president of APOEL, Haris Fotiou, reported that the club's current debt stands at 39 million euros, with an additional liquidity deficit of 5.5 million euros required by the end of the season. To address these financial challenges, Fotiou announced the launch of a digital platform at 17:00 that day to collect funds from fans. He declared his intention to donate his shares in the company to the fans, retaining only 100 shares for symbolic reasons related to the club's centenary. Fotiou emphasized that he accepts full responsibility for current obligations and clarified that he is not a puppet for former president Prodromos Petridis. Furthermore, he announced the formation of a new advisory committee to oversee operations. Additionally, he confirmed the renewal of player contracts for Stelios Vrontis, Giannakou, and Poursaitidis, along with the restructuring of Kattirtzis's contract. He stated that the process of changing bank signatures following the leadership change took approximately 15 days.
