APOEL launches financial support campaign amid mounting debt
On March 30, 2026, APOEL President Charis Fotiou announced a new financial support campaign titled 'APOEL is you, for the present and the future'. The club faces a reported debt of 39 million euros and requires approximately 5.5 million euros by the end of the season. Within the first few hours of the campaign's launch, reports of total donations varied, with some sources stating over 15,000 euros in 30 minutes, 24,000 euros in one hour, and over 30,000 euros within two hours. Fotiou confirmed that 55 settlements are currently in place rather than lawsuits and addressed the case of player Galanopoulos. The president also introduced a new advisory committee featuring Konstantinos Petridis, Angelos Grigoriadis, Nikos Siridis, and Georgia Panagiotou. Addressing the legacy of former president Prodromos Petridis, Fotiou emphasized that he accepts full responsibility for the club's current state and noted that administrative changes, including bank signatures, required 15 days to process. Additionally, the club announced several contract renewals for players Vrontis, Poursaitidis, and Giannakou.
