Unsettled weather and thunderstorm warnings issued for Cyprus
Cyprus is experiencing an unsettled weather pattern caused by a weak low-pressure system and an unstable air mass. The Department of Meteorology has issued multiple warnings for local showers, isolated thunderstorms, and potential hail affecting mountainous, inland, and coastal areas. Temperatures are forecast to reach approximately 22°C inland and 21°C on the coast, with mountain elevations dropping as low as 4°C to 11°C. Winds are expected to range from 3 to 4 Beaufort, occasionally strengthening to 5 Beaufort in coastal regions. Seas will remain moderate to slightly rough, with conditions shifting through the Easter weekend. While Good Friday is expected to be mostly clear, localized clouds may bring isolated showers, particularly in the west and southern regions. Meteorologists note that temperatures will fluctuate slightly, remaining close to or slightly below seasonal averages through Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday.
