She confirmed that she consciously chose to leave her home country, career, family, and friends in Cyprus to reside with her husband, Johnny Kalimeris. The couple married last July in Nymfaio, and Iakovidou noted that they are approaching their one-year wedding anniversary in a few months. While she acknowledged the challenges of adapting to a new daily routine away from her homeland, she emphasized that prioritizing personal happiness with her spouse has made the transition easier. The presenter continues to travel back to Cyprus approximately once a month. She praised Kalimeris for his kindness and strong character during the interview with Christiana Kochlatzi. Iakovidou stated that she does not regret the decision, as she believes life should not be defined solely by professional pursuits.
