Police conduct wide-scale crime prevention operations in Cyprus
Over the past two nights, the Cyprus Police conducted nationwide preventive operations to combat crime and ensure public order. While early reports mentioned three arrests, subsequent official updates confirmed that seven individuals were arrested on Tuesday for various offenses, including outstanding court warrants, illegal possession of property, weapons, and narcotics, as well as illegal entry into the Republic. During these operations, police checked 373 drivers and 77 passengers, as well as 35 business establishments. Authorities issued 228 traffic citations, with 110 cases involving speeding violations. Additionally, three vehicles were impounded, and officers conducted 60 alcohol tests, resulting in two citations, alongside one case of driving under the influence of drugs. Authorities stated that these coordinated patrols are part of a daily effort to enhance public safety.
