Police conduct nationwide security operations
The Cyprus Police conducted nationwide operations to prevent crime and ensure public order. Reports from different dates provide conflicting statistics regarding the scope and results of these patrols. One set of reports indicates 10 arrests, 650 vehicle checks, 849 person checks, 40 premise inspections, and 282 traffic violations. Another set of reports mentions 4 arrests, 1,035 vehicle checks, 1,282 person checks, 41 premise inspections, and 283 traffic violations. Traffic offenses included varying numbers of speeding, alcohol-related driving, and drug-impaired driving violations. Additionally, authorities impounded between 15 and 20 vehicles depending on the operation date. These coordinated efforts are intended to continue daily to enhance public safety.
