Weather system approaching Cyprus from the Mediterranean

A significant low-pressure system is expected to form in the central Mediterranean, combining with another system near North Africa by Wednesday. Meteorologist Andreas Chrysanthou described the phenomenon as bordering on a "weather bomb," which will cause intense rainfall in Greece and significant precipitation in Cyprus from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon. While Cyprus will not be the primary center, local authorities warn of potential storms and have not ruled out issuing weather alerts. Currently, the region is experiencing weak low pressure with scattered showers and snow measuring 8 centimeters at Chionistra as of Monday morning. Dust is expected to arrive in the atmosphere starting Wednesday, while temperatures are forecasted to rise gradually from Tuesday. Current weather conditions include temperatures around 19-20 degrees Celsius at lower elevations and 8-10 degrees in the mountains, with winds reaching up to force 6 on the Beaufort scale.
