Two separate shooting incidents reported in Limassol
Two distinct shooting incidents occurred in Limassol on Thursday, March 26, 2026. In the first case, a 21-year-old reported to the Episkopi Police Station that he and two friends, aged 18 and 20, were threatened by an unknown man in a churchyard in a village within the Limassol district. The suspect, located approximately 70 meters away, allegedly fired two shots from a hunting rifle into the air because he was angered by the group's use of firecrackers. In a separate incident at approximately 22:50, an employee at a restaurant in the center of Limassol discovered damage to the establishment's glass storefront. A bullet casing was found in the street nearby, leading authorities to suspect a discharge of a firearm. The Limassol CID has cordoned off the restaurant scene for forensic analysis, and investigations into both events remain ongoing. No injuries have been reported in connection with either incident.
