Escalating military conflict between Iran and US-Israeli forces
The military conflict in the Middle East has continued for approximately four weeks with no signs of de-escalation. Recent strikes by the United States and Israel targeted Tehran, including the Lamerd international airport in the Fars province, as well as various military, administrative, and energy facilities across Iran. US officials reported hitting over ten thousand targets, claiming to have decimated Iranian air defense systems and 92% of its major naval vessels. Conversely, Iran claims to have attacked satellite communication stations and over 70 locations in Israel, including Haifa and Dimona, while also asserting it downed a US F-18 fighter jet. Iran further claims to have inflicted significant damage on the US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, an assertion Washington denies, stating the vessel continues its operations. Additionally, Iranian forces reported strikes against Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates. Iranian Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf warned the US against further escalation as reports circulate regarding the deployment of additional US elite military units to the region.
