Weather update for Cyprus on April 19-20, 2026
As of April 19, 2026, the atmospheric dust that affected Cyprus over the previous two days is gradually subsiding across the island due to winds and recent rainfall. The Meteorological Service reports that conditions will continue to improve, with no new dust waves expected through Thursday. A weak low-pressure system and unstable air mass currently dominate the region, bringing localized rains and isolated thunderstorms, particularly in the mountains and the eastern half of the island, with a possibility of hail. Temperatures on Sunday are reaching approximately 22°C inland and on southern and eastern coasts, and around 10°C in higher mountainous areas. By Monday, April 20, weather conditions will feature mostly clear skies with periodic cloud cover and isolated rains expected in northern, mountainous, and semi-mountainous regions, especially the Troodos range. Monday’s temperatures are forecast to range between 21°C and 24°C in inland and coastal areas, while remaining near 10°C on Mount Chionistra. Wind speeds on Monday will transition from variable to northwesterly or southwesterly at 3-4 Beaufort.
