Unstable weather forecast for Cyprus during Holy Week
The Department of Meteorology in Cyprus has reported that a weak low-pressure system and unstable air masses are currently affecting the island. Throughout early Holy Week, weather conditions will remain largely clear in the mornings with localized cloud development by midday and afternoon. These clouds are expected to bring isolated rain and thunderstorms, particularly in mountainous regions, the interior, and parts of the southern and eastern coastlines. Forecasts indicate the potential for hail during storm events, with wind speeds reaching up to 4-5 Beaufort on the coast. Temperatures are anticipated to hover around seasonal norms, reaching highs of 20 to 23 degrees Celsius in the interior and coastal areas, while dropping to 3 to 11 degrees Celsius in the Troodos mountains. Frost may form locally at the highest peaks of the Troodos range during the night. Sea conditions will remain generally slight to moderate, transitioning towards calmer states in sheltered areas.
