Olympiacos seeks temporary relocation to OAKA stadium
Olympiacos FC has officially requested to use the Athens Olympic Stadium (OAKA) for the next two years due to planned renovations at their home ground, Karaiskakis Stadium. The Piraeus club has initiated contact with the stadium management and met with Deputy Minister Giannis Vroutsis to discuss the matter. A major obstacle remains the existing agreement between Panathinaikos and OAKA, which grants the former exclusive rights for football usage. Olympiacos has indicated it may pursue legal action if Panathinaikos refuses to consent to their presence. While a previous attempt by Kifisia to use the stadium did not reach a court verdict due to a change in their venue, the Olympiacos legal team intends to challenge the exclusivity clause. Observers note that the dispute is less about financial concerns and more about the symbolic and logistical implications of sharing the venue with a rival. No legal precedent currently exists regarding the exclusivity of the facility.
