36th EAK-PSAT sports journalism conference held in Larnaca

The 36th conference of the Cyprus Sports Writers Association (EAK) and the Panhellenic Association of Sports Press (PSAT) took place from March 26 to 28, 2026, in Larnaca. Hosted at the Multipurpose Welfare and Employment Center, the event was held under the auspices of the Cyprus Sports Organization (KOA). Key discussions focused on strengthening sports cooperation between Greece and Cyprus, including the 'Dimitrios Vikelas' program, which involves 12 Cypriot athletes, and digital initiatives like the 'e-kouros' platform. Officials emphasized the historical ties between the two nations and the ongoing collaboration between their sports ministries. During the opening ceremony, the book 'With the Gods of Olympus!' by Dimitris Dimitriou was presented, with proceeds supporting an EAK solidarity fund. Additionally, the event recognized several sports journalists for their long-term contributions, including those with 40 years of service and those who excelled in broadcasting and writing. The conference was attended by various state and sports officials, including Larnaca Mayor Andreas Vyras and Cyprus Olympic Committee President Georgios Chrysostomou.
