36th EAK-PSAT congress commences in Larnaca

The 36th EAK-PSAT congress began on the afternoon of March 26, 2026, at the Multipurpose Center for Social Welfare and Employment in Larnaca. The three-day event, running through March 28, is held under the auspices of the Cyprus Sports Organization (KOA) with support from the Municipality of Larnaca and the Cyprus Olympic Committee. During the opening ceremony, the book "With the Gods of Olympus!" by former EAK vice-president Dimitris Dimitriou, detailing the 1967-1974 participation of Cypriot teams in the Greek A' Division, was presented, with proceeds designated for an EAK solidarity fund. The congress honors various sports journalists for their contributions, including long-term service and special broadcasts. Notable awardees for 40 years of service include Achilleas Georgiadis and Petros Demetriades. Other recipients include Savvas Kosiaris, Stelios Papamouseos, Andreas Poyiatzis, Panikos Konstantinou, and Onisiforos Stavrou. EAK president Herodotus Miltiadous emphasized the historical cooperation between the Cypriot and Greek associations, which has continued since 1982.
