Fatal diving incident at the Devil's Well in Vouliagmeni

A 34-year-old pilot went missing on Sunday, March 22, during a dive at the Devil's Well in Limanakia, Vouliagmeni. The diver, who was accompanied by a friend, disappeared into the underwater cave system. Authorities were alerted by the companion who managed to surface safely. Search operations led to the discovery of a flipper and a diving scooter on Tuesday, March 24. On Wednesday, March 25, search and rescue teams located the man's body at a significant depth within the cave. Due to hazardous conditions, including strong currents and complex underwater passages, recovery was postponed. Rescue teams are planning a specialized operation involving gas mixtures, which is expected to take place on Saturday, March 28. Authorities are investigating potential causes, including disorientation or entrapment within the cave.
