Body of 34-year-old diver found in Vouliagmeni's Devil's Well

A 34-year-old pilot and experienced diver went missing on Sunday, March 22, while diving at a site known as the Devil's Well in Limanakia, Vouliagmeni. The alarm was raised by his diving companion who safely returned to the shore. Search efforts initially involved the Underwater Operations Unit and specialized cave divers, who discovered a fin and a diving scooter, though it was initially unclear if these belonged to the missing man or his companion. On Tuesday, March 24, a specialized operation was launched to install ropes and chains on the seabed to aid the search. Following these efforts, the diver's body was eventually located at a great depth within the formation. Rescue teams have decided against an immediate recovery operation to prioritize safety and planning. The recovery mission, requiring specialized gas mixtures, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 28.
