Severe weather conditions affect road network across Cyprus
Adverse weather conditions on Tuesday caused significant traffic disruptions across Cyprus. Heavy rainfall, starting around 14:00, led to water accumulation and slippery road surfaces on the Limassol-Paphos motorway, particularly near Limassol, Pissouri, and Kouklia. A stream overflowed near the Agios Silas exit, creating hazardous conditions in both directions. Separately, rock and soil landslides occurred on the Tsada-Paphos road shortly before 16:00, prompting road cleaning crews to be dispatched. Meanwhile, snowfall and fog in the Troodos region have limited visibility, making mountain roads dangerous. Routes from Troodos Square to the summit and the Prodromos-Troodos road are accessible only to 4x4 vehicles or those equipped with snow chains. Police have urged drivers to maintain low speeds, keep safe distances, and keep their headlights on.
