Ricardo Sa Pinto appointed as head coach of Pafos FC
Pafos FC has officially appointed Ricardo Sa Pinto as its new head coach, following the departure of Albert Celades. Celades left the position after 22 matches, during which he achieved 10 wins, 6 draws, and 6 losses, leaving the team with mixed results despite reaching the cup final. Sa Pinto, who previously won the Cyprus League with APOEL in the 2023/24 season, signed a contract to lead the team through the final stretch of the season. His immediate goals include improving the team's league standing and winning the domestic cup. The club also announced a new technical staff, featuring Nuno Miguel Barbosa Morais as assistant coach, Leandro De Sousa Mendes as fitness coach, and Samuel Andre De Sousa Pedroso as an analyst. Sa Pinto expressed his enthusiasm for the role, citing his familiarity with the league and his desire to secure trophies. The transition marks a strategic attempt by the Pafos management to maintain a winning mentality and stabilize the team's performance.
