Pafos FC appoints Ricardo Sa Pinto as new head coach
Pafos FC has officially parted ways with Spanish coach Albert Celades following a disappointing run of results. Celades, who took charge on January 9, 2026, failed to keep the team competitive in the league, with the club dropping from five points behind the leaders to 19 points adrift under his management. During his tenure, the team recorded only five wins in 16 league matches. While the team reached the domestic cup final, the board determined that performances remained unconvincing. Consequently, Portuguese coach Ricardo Sa Pinto was hired to replace him, with Nuno Morais joining as his assistant. Sa Pinto began his duties on April 29, 2026, aiming to win the cup and improve the club's league position. The new management is tasked with restoring a winning mentality and addressing dissatisfaction within the dressing room.
