Two separate drug-related police operations in Nicosia and Larnaca

Cypriot police carried out two distinct operations resulting in multiple arrests. In Nicosia, a 41-year-old man was arrested following the discovery of approximately seven kilograms of cannabis that arrived in Cyprus via a courier company in February. During a search of his home, authorities seized a small additional amount of cannabis and digital evidence. Separately, in Larnaca, a 34-year-old man was stopped by the drug squad (YKAN) on Tuesday night and found in possession of 359 grams of cocaine, two grams of cannabis resin, precision scales, and 1,115 euros. The Larnaca court subsequently issued an eight-day remand order for the 34-year-old. During the same Larnaca operation, police also arrested a 31-year-old man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for theft and malicious damage in Nicosia. Investigations in both cases remain ongoing by the drug enforcement unit.
