Police conducted coordinated overnight operations in Nicosia, resulting in the arrests of between six and eight individuals for offenses including burglary, theft, and traffic violations. Authorities reported inspecting between 436 and 529 vehicles, with total checks on 585 to 789 individuals. Traffic violations resulted in 127 to 291 complaints, with 109 specifically cited for speeding. One driver caught traveling at 160 km/h in a 50 km/h zone is scheduled to appear before the Nicosia district court on Wednesday for a remand hearing. Additional findings included reports of drink driving, positive drug tests, and the impounding of four to 11 vehicles. Police also inspected 28 to 42 establishments, resulting in one to five official reports.
