Reports regarding Mojtaba Khamenei's medical visit to Moscow denied
Iranian Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, has formally denied reports that the 56-year-old Mojtaba Khamenei, frequently described in foreign media as the new supreme leader of Iran, is receiving medical treatment in Moscow. The claims originated from the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida, which alleged that Khamenei was transported to Russia on a military aircraft following an injury sustained during an American-Israeli airstrike that reportedly killed his father. According to the Kuwaiti source, he was invited by Russian President Vladimir Putin and underwent successful surgery in a private facility. The Kremlin declined to comment on the allegations, while Iranian officials have dismissed claims of his injury and health deterioration. British tabloid reports have also circulated these claims, citing his recent absence from public appearances as evidence. However, there has been no independent verification of these reports. The situation remains uncertain, with conflicting narratives regarding his current status and ability to perform his duties.
