Detained man dies at Larnaca General Hospital

Panikos Kalaintzis, a 59-year-old man from Paphos, died in the cardiology ward of Larnaca General Hospital at 2:15 a.m. on March 17, 2026. He had been under police custody since his arrest on March 11, 2026, in connection with an investigation into the alleged obtaining of credit by false representations. Upon his arrest, the man was transferred to the hospital due to existing health issues and remained under police guard during his treatment.
