Reported missile strike on Iranian leadership compound
A leaked audio recording reportedly featuring Mazaher Hosseini, head of protocol for Ali Khamenei, describes an alleged missile attack on February 28 at 9:32 local time. According to the recording, Israeli Blue Sparrow missiles struck the residence of the Iranian leadership in Tehran. Ali Khamenei was reportedly killed in the strike, along with other high-ranking officials. Mojtaba Khamenei, the successor to the Supreme Leader, reportedly survived the attack after stepping into a garden moments before the impact. He sustained a leg injury, while his wife and son were killed, and his son-in-law was decapitated. Mohammad Shirazi, the head of the military office, was also reported dead after his remains were severely damaged in the blast. The claims emerged during a meeting with IRGC commanders and clergy on March 12 in the Kolhak district of Tehran, where the residence is located. The Telegraph claims to have independently verified the audio recording regarding these events.
