Tender process initiated for the Lemesos Integrated Waste Management Facility
The Water Development Department of Cyprus expects to announce a tender by the end of the year for the operation, maintenance, and partial upgrade of the Lemesos Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) and the local Waste Transfer Station. Kyriakos Kapris, head of the Solid Waste Management Service, confirmed that the department is acting as the contracting authority for this transitional period. Independent certified consultants have already completed an assessment of the current facility conditions at Pentakomo. Preparation of the necessary tender documentation is currently underway. A Project Concept Note (PCN) has been drafted and is being evaluated by the Ministry of Finance’s General Directorate for Development. Upon approval of this note, a separate tender will be launched to conduct a mandatory feasibility study. These steps are required to finalize the procurement process for the facility's long-term operational management.
