Missing 74-year-old woman found in Nicosia district

On March 16, 2026, 74-year-old Eleni Xenofontos was reported missing from her home in Deneia, Nicosia. Police published her details and photograph to aid the search after she disappeared at approximately 4:00 p.m. The woman is 1.62 meters tall and was last seen wearing brown trousers, a black sweater, a dark jacket, and gray athletic shoes. A search operation was launched involving the police, Civil Defense, a volunteer unit with a search dog, and local residents. She was located shortly before 11:00 p.m. on the same day in an area between Deneia and Akaki. The individual was found approximately three kilometers away from her residence. Police confirmed the successful conclusion of the search and thanked all participants for their assistance.
