New technical school project in Polemidia scheduled for completion

Construction of the new technical school in Polemidia, which will replace the First Technical School of Lemesos, is expected to be completed by December 2024. The facility will have a capacity for 700 students and includes a branch of the Pedagogical Institute. The total cost of the project is 27,715,000 euros. Dr. Elias Markatzis, Director of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education, announced that the ministry will evaluate the status of the move for the 2026–2027 academic year. If potential logistical issues are identified, the school will officially open in September 2027 to avoid student disruption. The complex will house modern laboratories for mechanical engineering, industrial design, and applied arts. Additionally, new academic programs will be offered, including renewable energy, digital technology, programming, hospitality management, jewelry design, and fashion design.
