Stefanos Tsitsipas drops out of ATP top 50 rankings
Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas has fallen eight spots to number 51 in the latest ATP world rankings with 995 points. This marks the first time since April 2018 that the 27-year-old has ranked outside the top 50. Due to this drop, Tsitsipas did not secure a place in the upcoming Barcelona Open, a tournament where he has reached the final four times in his career. The player is currently scheduled to compete at the Miami Open, taking place from March 18 to March 29, where he will face a qualifier in the opening round. If successful, he would face Australia's Alex de Minaur in the second round. Reports attribute this decline to recent poor performances, including early exits at tournaments such as the Dubai Tennis Championships. Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz remains at the top of the ATP rankings, with Jannik Sinner closing the gap following his victory at Indian Wells.
