Cyprus Sports Organization presents 2026 budget and addresses sexual harassment cases

The Cyprus Sports Organization (KOA) presented its balanced 2026 budget to the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, totaling €60,020,150 in revenue and expenditures. Board President Giannis Ioannou stated that the budget aligns with a 2025–2027 strategic plan focusing on sports development, infrastructure, and digital administrative modernization. During the session, the issue of sexual harassment in sports was addressed as a key priority. Ioannou reported that one case has already resulted in a conviction, while a second case is currently being processed by the justice system. The organization emphasized a zero-tolerance policy regarding such misconduct. Parents and children are encouraged to report incidents through internal KOA mechanisms or in cooperation with the 'Foni' organization to receive necessary psychological support. These measures are part of a broader administrative reform strategy aiming to improve the overall sports environment in Cyprus.
