Recall of coffee makers in Cyprus due to safety risks
The Cyprus Department of Electromechanical Services has announced a recall for two models of Cypriot coffee makers due to serious burn hazards. The recalled models include the RAF R.150 (220-240 V, 600 W, 50/60 Hz), distributed by K. Konstantinou & Sons Ltd/Cycle Tech Ltd, and the Silver LB170 (220-240 V, 650 W, 50/60 Hz), distributed by Cycle Tech Ltd/Savvas A. Ioannou. These devices pose a risk of burns caused by overflow during operation, when operation is interrupted, or when lifted from their base. Consumers are advised to return these products to the distributors, who are responsible for the recall process. Distributors are legally required to provide a free and effective remedy to consumers, with no time limitations for this obligation. The department has requested that anyone aware of points of sale for these products contact the Department of Electromechanical Services for further clarification. Consumers can continue to monitor official channels for updates on dangerous consumer products.
