Paris Erotokritou appointed general director of Nicosia Municipal Theatre

Nicosia For Art Ltd has officially appointed Paris Erotokritou as the new General Director of the Nicosia Municipal Theatre and the International Festival. He replaces Giorgos Gr. Papageorgiou, who recently departed to serve as General Director of the Deputy Ministry of Culture. Erotokritou is an award-winning theatre and film director who holds a master’s degree from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and a law degree from King’s College London. His professional background includes work with UK institutions such as the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Barbican, as well as the founding of the Fresh Target Theatre Ensemble in 2010. In his new role, he will be responsible for strategic planning, artistic programming, and expanding international partnerships. Furthermore, he is tasked with prioritizing community engagement and educational programs to strengthen the connection between the theatre and local residents. The appointment aims to continue the organizational trajectory of both the theatre and the festival while broadening their cultural impact.
