Cyprus Symphony Orchestra to present Starlight 4 concert series

The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra will hold its Starlight 4 concert series on March 18 and 19. The performances will feature clarinetist Sharon Kam and conductor Michalis Economou. The first concert will take place on March 18 at the Pattihio Municipal Theatre in Limassol. The second concert is scheduled for March 19 at the Strovolos Municipal Theatre in Nicosia. The program includes three works: Kommos B by Theodoros Antoniou, Clarinet Concerto No. 2 by Carl Maria von Weber, and Enigma Variations by Edward Elgar. Kommos B was composed in 1996 in memory of American composer Morton Gould and incorporates elements of traditional Epirus lament songs. Weber’s concerto is intended to showcase the clarinet's technical and expressive range, while Elgar’s Enigma Variations represent a series of musical portraits.
