Nicosia police arrest two individuals and seize weapons and drugs during apartment raid

Nicosia police arrested a 35-year-old woman wanted for burglary and theft, and a 35-year-old man who owned the apartment where she was found. The man was arrested for assisting an offender after the commission of a felony. During the search, officers discovered two small bags containing a crystalline substance resembling amphetamine and a small amount of cannabis in the woman's possession. Authorities also recovered a firearm of unknown origin, a hunting rifle, and several electric scooters and bicycles for which the occupants could not provide ownership documentation. Both suspects were taken into custody and scheduled to appear before the Nicosia District Court for remand hearings. The Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department, in collaboration with the Anti-Narcotics Unit (YKAN), is conducting further investigations into the origin of the items. Reports differ on whether the remand hearing was set for Monday or Friday, though all sources confirm the event occurred in Nicosia.
