Marina Satti discusses childhood experiences and career challenges

On Saturday, March 14, singer Marina Satti participated in the Women's Forum to discuss the impact of social stereotypes. During the event, she shared personal experiences from her childhood, specifically noting that she felt ashamed when her father, who was from Sudan and Black, would pick her up from after-school classes due to fear of how her classmates would react. Satti also disclosed that she felt embarrassed to admit she was a singer for many years, partly attributing this to her upbringing in a rural setting. Regarding her professional career, she stated that performing at nighttime venues does not align with her personal preferences. Excerpts of her comments were broadcast on the television program 'Randevou to SK' on March 15. The singer concluded by explaining that, as she has matured, she has learned to navigate stereotypes by prioritizing her own feelings and intuition. She emphasized that she avoids environments where she feels she does not fit in, noting a physical reaction to such situations.
