Two individuals arrested for animal abuse in Thessaloniki

Police officers from the Neapoli-Sykies department arrested a 43-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman in Thessaloniki yesterday afternoon. The arrests followed an incident of animal abuse that occurred in the Sykies area. Authorities reported that the 43-year-old male was allegedly using violence against the dog. The 33-year-old woman, who is the registered owner of the dog, was present during the incident. A case file has been opened against both individuals for violating animal protection laws. Law enforcement officers have removed the dog from the owner's custody. Additionally, a 5,000-euro administrative fine has been imposed in connection with the case.
