European parliament committee adopts position on the 2028-2034 budget

The European Parliament's Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) has adopted a position regarding the upcoming Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for 2028-2034. Michalis Hadjipantela, who served as the rapporteur for the committee, announced that the proposal was adopted with 82% approval. The committee emphasizes the necessity of prioritizing the climate crisis within the future EU budget to address challenges like drought and forest fires. The committee specifically proposes that 35% of the total budget should be allocated to these initiatives.
