Finalissima match between Spain and Argentina officially cancelled

The UEFA Finalissima match between European champions Spain and Copa America winners Argentina has been officially cancelled. The event was initially scheduled for March 27 at the Lusail Stadium in Doha, Qatar, but was cancelled due to the regional security situation in the Middle East. UEFA proposed three alternative solutions: hosting the match at the Santiago Bernabeu with a 50:50 fan split, a two-legged series in Madrid and Buenos Aires, or holding the match at a neutral venue on March 27 or 30. The Argentine Football Association (AFA) rejected these proposals, instead suggesting that the match take place after the World Cup. UEFA rejected the post-World Cup date due to Spain's lack of availability. Consequently, no new date or venue has been set, and the match will not proceed.
