Iranian foreign minister makes claims regarding regional security and U.S.-Israel operations

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated in an interview with Al Araby Al Jadeed that Tehran possesses intelligence suggesting the United States and Israel are conducting attacks on Arab nations from specific sites. Araghchi denied Iranian involvement in recent regional attacks, asserting that Iran only targets U.S. military assets as retaliation for hostile actions originating from those facilities. He proposed the creation of a joint committee with regional neighbors to investigate the nature of these attacks. The minister claimed that the U.S. has developed a drone called 'LUCAS' that mirrors the Iranian Shahed 136 and is being used to target Arab territories. Furthermore, he accused Israel of targeting civilians to damage diplomatic ties between Iran and Arab states. Araghchi noted that ongoing mediation efforts involving Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Oman are underway to de-escalate tensions. He also clarified that the Strait of Hormuz remains closed exclusively to vessels from the U.S. and its allies. Finally, he stated that the situation within Iran remains stable with no institutional defections.
