Ten people arrested following allegations of sexual assault in Chania
Ten people are facing legal proceedings in Chania following an investigation into the alleged rape of a 17-year-old girl. The incident reportedly occurred between Wednesday and Thursday when two 17-year-old girls left a church-run residential facility. The victim, a Greek teenager, reported being raped by five individuals, with police noting that one suspect allegedly filmed the act. Five suspects are specifically accused of the rape: two Bulgarians aged 15 and 18, and three Greeks aged 17, 21, and 27. An additional 21-year-old Greek man was arrested for indecent acts and expressions. The second girl, a Bulgarian teenager, admitted to consensual sexual activity after using cannabis and was arrested for drug use. Furthermore, three female guardians aged 46, 47, and 59 were taken into custody for neglect of supervision of minors. The ten individuals involved are scheduled to testify before the Chania public prosecutor on Monday.
