Demetriou called for the removal of Agriculture Minister Maria Panayiotou due to alleged management failures. In response, President Nikos Christodoulides declined to address the criticism, stating that his administration focuses on policy substance rather than political campaigning. Victoras Papadopoulos, director of the presidential press office, subsequently accused Demetriou of populism and attempting to gain electoral advantage ahead of the parliamentary elections.
