Explosion outside a gym in Nicosia

An explosion occurred outside a gym in Nicosia on the night of Saturday, March 14, 2026. According to police reports, the incident took place at approximately 10:30 p.m. The facility is owned by two men, aged 35 and 39. The blast caused significant damage to the glass frontage of the gym premises. Additionally, a car belonging to a 29-year-old woman, which was parked nearby, sustained minor damage. Post-incident examinations conducted by authorities confirmed that the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the detonation.
