Ministry of Labor conducts inspections on professional drivers

Between 2023 and 2025, the Department of Labor Relations conducted over 1,300 inspections of professional drivers. These audits focused on compliance with legal requirements regarding driving hours, rest periods, and mandatory breaks. The Ministry identified multiple violations during these checks, resulting in either compliance recommendations or the referral of criminal cases to the courts. Officials noted that these violations contribute to driver fatigue and increase the risk of road accidents. To address these issues, the Department is collaborating with the Police, the Department of Road Transport, and the Department of Electromechanical Services. A new public awareness campaign regarding tachograph regulations is scheduled to take place from March 9 to March 22, 2026. The initiative aims to improve road safety standards and ensure better working conditions for professional drivers.
