Non-profit organization opens inclusive café in Nicosia
The non-governmental organization Voice for Autism has launched True Heart Café, a new social enterprise located in central Nicosia. The café is designed to provide job opportunities and professional training for individuals on the autism spectrum. Many of the staff members are engaging in their first formal employment experience through this project. Employees, including Special Olympics cycling champion Stella, report that the venue offers a supportive environment for social interaction and professional growth. The initiative aims to address the difficulties many people with autism face when seeking work in Cyprus. The organization intends to use the workspace as a hub for collaboration and long-term vocational inclusion. By providing a structured daily routine, the café serves as a practical space for staff to integrate into the local labor market. The project has received positive feedback from its initial employees regarding their sense of belonging and community.
