EDEK to file complaint over alleged data protection breaches
Members of the EDEK party are preparing to file a formal complaint with the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection. The party alleges that election campaign offices associated with the ALMA movement in Paphos and DIKO in Larnaca have systematically harassed their members. EDEK claims that these parties may have illegally obtained access to their internal membership records. According to the party, this unauthorized contact has occurred for some time, but it has recently escalated into systematic harassment. EDEK asserts that the actions of these candidates violate both personal data protection laws and political ethics. The party leadership stated that their members will not be misled by these campaign tactics. They have called for an investigation into whether the rival campaigns are using stolen private data to target EDEK voters. No response from the ALMA or DIKO campaigns has been reported regarding these allegations.
