APOEL communications director clarifies club stance on former president and transfer deals
APOEL's press officer, Nektarios Petevinos, stated that former club president Prodromos Petridis, who led the team for 18 years, has the right to attend matches despite his departure from the board. Addressing fan concerns, Petevinos emphasized that Petridis has no current official ties to the club's administration. On the sporting front, Petevinos commented on the team's victory against Aris, acknowledging injury challenges involving players like Konstantinos Laifis, who recently underwent surgery. The club is also managing the potential transfer of David Abagna to the Kazakh club Ordabasy. Officials confirmed that the deal is pending final documentation and will only proceed if the financial terms meet the club's demands. Reports suggest the transfer could generate approximately 600,000 euros in fees plus savings on his contract, totaling roughly 1 million euros in benefit. Meanwhile, the team remains focused on securing European competition qualification through the remainder of the season.
