Cyprus weather forecast: New low-pressure system and unsettled conditions ahead

Following a weekend of heavy rain and snowfall in the Troodos mountains, Cyprus is preparing for a new low-pressure system starting Tuesday and Wednesday. This system is expected to bring increased cloud cover, local showers, and isolated thunderstorms, with possible hail and snow on the highest peaks of the Troodos range. Dust concentrations in the atmosphere are also forecasted, with an increase expected by Thursday. Temperatures are projected to remain slightly below seasonal averages from Friday onwards. Meteorological official Andreas Chrysanthou noted that recent rains helped raise the monthly precipitation levels significantly, reaching 59% of the normal values for March and 90% for the hydrological season. Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution due to road conditions and strong winds. The current unsettled weather is expected to persist until Saturday.
